The Trio Wanderer celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2012. Formed in 1987 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the trio went on to train with such great masters as Menahem Pressler (of the Beaux Arts Trio) and the Amadeus Quartet.
Dubbed ‘Wandering Star’ by The Strad magazine, the Trio Wanderer is invited to perform at the most prestigious venues, including the Berlin Philharmonie, the Théâtre des Champs- Élysées in Paris, the Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro, La Scala in Milan, the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Library of Congress in Washington, Kioi Hall in Tokyo, and the Tonhalle in Zurich, and at such leading festivals as Edinburgh, Montreux, Feldkirch, Schleswig-Holstein, Stresa, Granada, Osaka, La Roque d’Anthéron, La Folle Journée de Nantes, and the Rheingau Musiksommer; it has made four appearances at the Salzburg Festival.
Its discography of more than a dozen recordings has received numerous awards, including the Midem Classical Award, CD of the Month in BBC Music Magazine and Fono Forum, ‘Choc’ du Monde de la Musique, Critic’s Choice in Gramophone, and Diapason d’Or of the Year.
The Trio Wanderer has won the Victoire de la Musique for best instrumental ensemble of the year on three occasions.
