After studying the violin, musicology, music theory and composition, Serge Lemouton specialised in the various fields of computer music at the Sonvs department of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. Since 1992 he has been a computer music designer at Ircam. He collaborates with researchers on the development of computer tools and participates in the musical projects of composers including Florence Baschet, Laurent Cuniot, Michael Jarrell, Jacques Lenot, Jean-Luc Hervé, Michaël Levinas, Magnus Lindberg, Tristan Murail, Marco Stroppa, Fréderic Durieux and others. He has realised and performed in real time several works by Philippe Manoury, including K…, La Frontière, On-Iron and Partita 1 et 2, and Luca Francesconi’s opera Quartett. In his current work, he studies the transmission and preservation of works from the repertory of electroacoustic and computer music.
