“A major pianist of his generation, Emmanuel Strosser is regularly invited to perform in prestigious festivals and international music venues as a recitalist and guest soloist to leading orchestras. Chamber music holds a privileged place in his career. On stage he regularly joins artists such as Vladimir Mendelssohn, Raphael Oleg, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian, Régis Pasquier, Xavier Phillips, Peter Wiespelwey, François Leleux, Romain Guyot, the Modigliani Quartet and the Owon Trio he founded along with Olivier Charlier and Sung-Won Yang. He has also formed a piano duet with the pianist Claire Désert for several years now. A native of Strasbourg, Emmanuel Strosser was trained by Hélène Boschi before entering the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM) where he received tuition from Jean-Claude Pennetier (piano) and Christian Ivaldi (chamber music). After having unanimously been awarded first prize degrees, he improved his skills with Leon Fleisher and Dmitri Bashkirov. He became a prize winner of the Florence international chamber music competition and a finalist of the Clara Haskil competition in 1991.
Emmanuel Strosser has participated in numerous recordings, which were all acclaimed by the press. His recent solo piano albums are dedicated to Schubert and Chabrier. His latest releases with Claire Désert include: L’enfance (Childhood) (2013), which was awarded“5 Diapasons”and hailed by Gramophone Magazine, a Schubert CD (2015) featuring the Fantasy in f minor, as well as four CDs released by the CD label Mirare. In addition, Emmanuel Strosser is a piano teacher at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP).”
